We never see your files. All file processing happens 100% inside your web browser — your documents and images never leave your computer and are never uploaded to our servers. (This page explains the limited, standard website analytics we do use.)
1 Client-Side File Processing
Kimosabe Tools uses modern web technologies (HTML5 File API, Canvas API, PDF-Lib) to perform "Client-Side Processing." This means when you select a PDF or an Image, your browser does all the work locally on your device. This is separate from the basic website analytics described in the sections below, which relate to how you browse the site — not to the files you process.
No File Uploads
Your files stay in your browser's memory and are never transmitted to our servers.
Instant Processing
Files are processed at your device's speed without waiting for server uploads.
Complete File Privacy
Even we cannot access your files. They exist only in your browser session.
2 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our website and improve the user experience. This service collects anonymized information such as:
- Approximate geographic location (country-level only)
- Browser type and device version
- Pages visited and time spent on the site
- Tool usage patterns (which tools are most popular)
This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. We use IP anonymization and have disabled advertising features and data sharing with Google (allow_google_signals and ad-personalization signals are turned off).
3 Cookies
Kimosabe Tools uses minimal cookies:
- Analytics Cookies: For understanding site usage patterns (Google Analytics).
- Functional Cookies: To remember your tool preferences, if such features are added in future versions.
- No Advertising Cookies: We do not currently serve ads and do not currently set any ad-related cookies. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy before any advertising is introduced.
You can disable or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some features may not work optimally. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before placing non-essential (analytics) cookies.
4 Third-Party Services
We integrate with minimal third-party services:
- Google Analytics: For website analytics (privacy-enhanced as described above).
- Formspree: For contact form submissions (only if you choose to contact us).
- Ko-fi: For donation processing (only if you choose to support us).
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies if you use them.
5 Data Retention
We retain minimal data:
- Analytics Data: Retained for 26 months in Google Analytics.
- Contact Form Submissions: Retained for 12 months for support purposes.
- Your Files: Zero retention — files are never stored on our servers because they are never sent to them.
You have the right to request deletion of any personal data we may hold. Contact us through our contact form for such requests.
6 Children's Privacy
Kimosabe Tools is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under the minimum age required for data consent in your country, where that age is higher). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
7 Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
